Understanding EAP

What is an EAP?

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential, employer-funded support service that provides employees and their immediate family members with short-term access to mental health and wellbeing support.

Leapwell’s assistance programs include EAP counselling, short-term psychological support, and early intervention pathways delivered by qualified psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals.

All Leapwell EAP services are delivered with strict confidentiality and clinical governance standards.

An EAP is designed to:

  • Support employee mental health and wellbeing

  • Resolve work-related or personal challenges early

  • Reduce psychosocial risk and workplace harm

  • Improve employee safety, retention and productivity

  • Assist HR, managers and leadership teams
